Feel heard by someone who has time to listen
Does this sound familiar?
Maybe it's your hormones. Your cycle has started shifting and you're not sure why. PMS hits harder than it used to. You're more tired, less resilient, and you have a sense that something in your body is changing. You don't just want a quick fix. You want to understand why.
Or maybe it's your gut. Heartburn showed up out of nowhere, maybe around a new job or a big change in your life. You're bloated even though you eat well. Your bowel habits are unpredictable, and you've started planning your day around them. You might even be dreading in-person meetings, worried your stomach will make itself heard in a quiet boardroom.
Either way, it's starting to shape your life. Maybe you feel nervous about eating, or eating out. Maybe you're planning your work, even your whole week, around your cycle or your gut. Maybe you've had to take a leave from work just to figure things out. Mostly, you just don't feel like yourself anymore.
You've had bloodwork, and it came back normal. You've tried cutting foods, adding supplements, following advice from friends and the internet. Some of it helped for a while. None of it stuck.
If you've ever started a sentence with "this may sound silly, but…", it isn't silly. You're not imagining it, and you're not alone. This is what I hear from most of the women who come to see me.
Why it keeps happening
Your gut, your hormones and your metabolism are constantly affecting each other. When digestion is off, it can change how your body handles hormones. When hormones shift, as they do in perimenopause, digestion, sleep, mood and energy often shift with them.
So when each symptom gets looked at on its own, the pattern behind them is easy to miss. Short appointments make it hard to step back and see the whole picture. That's usually the missing piece: not more information or more supplements, but time and a strategy that connects the dots.
How a naturopathic consultation helps
A naturopathic consultation is time set aside to look at all of it together: your symptoms, history, lifestyle, labs and goals. I look at three connected areas together: your gut, your hormones and your metabolism.
I work mostly with women from their mid-thirties through their mid-fifties, often around perimenopause. Common reasons people book:
Digestive concerns: IBS, SIBO, acid reflux, constipation, bloating
Hormone changes: perimenopause, PMS and PMDD, irregular or painful periods, PCOS, endometriosis
Metabolic concerns: fatigue, insulin resistance, fatty liver, high cholesterol
You don't need a diagnosis or a referral to book.
Care with a medical eye
I trained and worked as a medical doctor before becoming a naturopathic doctor, and that shapes how I practise. It helps me assess carefully, and it helps me recognize when something needs more than naturopathic care. If you need a colonoscopy, an iron infusion, or a prescription medication whose benefits outweigh its risks, I'll tell you honestly and help you take that step with your family doctor.
I also take the time to explain. How your gut and hormones work. What your test results mean. Why a guideline recommends what it does, how a medication works, or what a procedure involves. You deserve to understand your own body and the decisions you're making about it.
What to expect
Most people need 3 to 4 appointments to reach their health goals, sometimes a few more depending on their treatment plan. Here's how it usually goes:
Free clarity call. A short call to talk through what's going on and see if our approach is a good fit, before you commit time or money.
Initial appointment (60–75 minutes). This visit is about hearing your story. We go through your concerns, health history, diet, sleep, stress and medications, and we start any assessments or lab tests you need, using only tests backed by good evidence. Often we'll also start with foundations, like changes to nutrition and daily habits, or a herb or supplement to ease your symptoms while we wait for results. Bring any recent bloodwork or reports from other providers.
Second appointment: your treatment plan. By now your results are in. We've ruled certain conditions in or out, and ruled out anything serious. You receive your comprehensive treatment plan, and we move from foundations to a more targeted treatment.
Short check-ins. Usually 2 to 4 shorter visits to keep the momentum going, adjust your treatment or step it up as needed.
Lasting results. We finish with a plan to help you maintain your progress on your own.
What care can include
Depending on what you need: nutrition and lifestyle changes, supplements and botanical medicine, bioidentical hormone therapy, vitamin injections and acupuncture. We're happy to work alongside your family doctor and share notes with your consent.
Between visits, or before you're ready
The Well Woman Hub is my passion project: bite-sized women's wellness lessons in plain language. It's a good place to start if you're not ready for one-on-one care yet, and a helpful companion if you're already a patient.
Fees and insurance
The clarity call is always free, and you'll find current fees for initial and follow-up appointments on our fees page.
We provide insurance receipts for every visit. Naturopathy isn't covered by OHIP, but many extended health plans include it, so check your plan for naturopathic coverage. Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, or the full fee applies.

Common questions
Do I need a referral? No. You can book directly.
How many appointments will I need? Most people need 3 to 4 appointments, sometimes a few more depending on their treatment plan. We'll talk about what to expect for you at your first visit.
Why am I so bloated, even though I eat healthy? Bloating can come from many things: how well you digest certain foods, the balance of bacteria in your gut, constipation, stress, and hormone changes across your cycle. Eating well doesn't rule these out. Some healthy foods, like beans, certain fruits and raw vegetables, are common triggers. Finding your pattern is part of what we do together. New bloating that doesn't go away, especially with weight loss, bleeding or a lasting change in bowel habits, should always be checked, and ruling out anything serious is part of our assessment.
Why is my cycle suddenly changing? In your late thirties and forties, cycle changes are often an early sign of perimenopause, when hormone levels start to fluctuate. Stress, thyroid changes, weight changes and some medications can also play a role. Very heavy bleeding, bleeding between periods or after sex, or periods coming much closer together are worth having checked promptly.
What tests might I need? It depends on your symptoms. Common ones include bloodwork (iron, vitamin D, complete blood count, thyroid and hormone tests), a SIBO breath test, and stool tests that check digestion, gut inflammation and parasites. We don't use tests that aren't backed by good evidence. Lab fees billed separately and not included in the appointment fee.
Is naturopathy covered by insurance? Many extended health plans cover naturopathic visits. We give you a receipt to submit. Check your plan for the yearly amount.
Can I see you if I live outside Toronto? Yes. Virtual visits are open to anyone living in Ontario.
Will you replace my family doctor? No. We work alongside your family doctor and other care providers.
Can you prescribe? I have limited prescribing authority in Ontario. When a prescription medication is the right fit, we work with nurse practitioners and medical doctors to find the most suitable option for you.
